WHO IS JESUS?
He is the eternal Son of God, and He is the Savior of the world; meaning, He is the means through whom God brings humanity back to Himself. Of course, this is a faith statement. Here's some more.
He is the ''incarnation'' of God. God coming in flesh, conceived of the Spirit of God through a virgin as prophesied hundreds of years prior to His birth in a manger in Bethlehem.
By ''looking at'' Jesus through the narratives in the New Testament Bible, one discovers that God is identifying with people's sufferings and hardships. He is not remote but actively involved in where people are. He went to the marginalized people rather than the ''high and mighty.''
In fact, Jesus made a big deal about being humble in all things and ready to serve others rather than one 's self. He lived this axiom.
This attitude led Him to be the servant and sacrifice for humanity. This servant heart is best seen in His Crucifixion on the Cross when Jesus accepted the judgment of God upon humanity's sin.
However, Jesus was not just a historical figure and great servant of the people. He was raised from the dead by the power of God, and now is the Risen Lord. Through His Resurrection, the promises of God are guaranteed to all who will believe in His Resurrection.
Everything He taught and did was according to the enormous love that God has for all the world's peoples of all time. He did not come to condemn anyone. Judgment was not a part of Jesus' ministry; rather, He lived and spoke of the grace and forgiveness of God.
In almost every teaching of Jesus there is the invitation to become a part of God's family by turning from the selfish norms of the world and choose a different way - following Him (link to SPIRITUAL RESOURCES/WANT TO FOLLOW JESUS).
