Love at Work: Missions Education
Sharing the Good News of Jesus is at the core of who we are at Forest Hills. Whether we are traveling to Southeast Asia, Ukraine, and South Africa or whether we are delivering welcome gifts to new families in our neighborhood, Forest Hills is busy doing missions!
Because we value the mandate of Christ to "Go and Tell", we know the importance of providing quality educational opportunities through which our church family can learn about missions. Take a look and see where you can connect with us!
Women on Mission
Women of all ages participate in numerous mission activities each month of the year. Promoting special offerings for missionaries, leading the church family in collecting Operation Christmas Child Boxes for Samaritan's Purse, and baking delicious cakes for prison inmates are just a few of the projects that these ladies do in order to keep the "face of missions" in front of the Forest Hills' family.
Girls in Action
Elementary aged girls are thrilled to "learn, grow, and go" as they work individually and together to take the love of Jesus to their schools, neighborhoods, and extracurricular activities. Throughout the year GAs not only learn about missions, but also experience the joy of doing for others with the goal of helping them know Jesus.
Mission Friends
Preschoolers ages 2-5 years learn about those who tell others about Jesus. These boys and girls experience hands on learning activities that bring the stories of missionaries to life. Meeting real-live missionaries about whom Mission Friends have learned is always an extra-special treat!
Royal Ambassadors
Boys in grades 1-6 expend surplus energy during class times, mission project times, and camp times! A highlight of the year is the RA Pinewood Derby where boys build their own racecars and then compete on specially designed tracks for the winning position.
Mission Possible
Teenagers in grades 7-12 experience first hand the excitement of helping others know Jesus in Raleigh, surrounding areas, and throughout the world. Our youth are an example to all of us at Forest Hills as they provide meals and clothing for homeless people, visit with the elderly at a nearby retirement center, and hammer roofs on houses of hurricane victims.
