Ministry to Internationals Team - Glenda Reece

The Ministry to Internationals Team is made up of a number of different teams that provide activities and services for the international community. Teams include Conversational English, International Activities Fun Team, Hosting Team, East Asia Team, etc. Our African, Chinese, Farsi, and Hispanic Teams also are part of our Ministry to Internationals Team.

African Ministry - Yinko Jolaoso

This team provides ministries and serves the African Community.

Farsi Ministry  - Asad Hashemi

This team provides ministries and serves the Farsi Community.

Hispanic Ministry - Maritza Hurtado

This team will develop ministries and outreach to the Hispanic community.

Missions Projects/ Disaster Relief Teams:

Projects Team - Tom Revak

The team provides coordination and funding for all mission projects outside of Wake County. This team will work with short term mission team leaders and the Disaster Relief Team leaders to coordinate our outreach/mission activities outside the Wake County area.

Disaster Relief - Tom Hale/Garry Stephenson

The team coordinates all disaster relief efforts of Forest Hills. The team’s efforts include organizing teams to work with NC Baptist men to meet the needs of people during hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and other natural disasters. This team also links Forest Hills members with local, state and national organizations to provide disaster relief and works generally to help Forest Hills members strengthen their Christian witness by providing opportunities for service to others.

Youth Mission Team - Garry Stephenson

This team will provide mission opportunities for youth. The team will work to establish the “habit of servanthood” in our youth. One goal is provide at least one opportunity for mission projects for every youth each year.

Community/Outreach Teams:

Community/Outreach Team - James Hickland/Tim Myers

Team will coordinate all short-term community missions/outreach efforts at Forest Hills. Teams include Hope Builders, Wake Interfaith, and any other community team. This team will coordinate and develop a comprehensive plan in cooperation with all other team leaders to provide coordination and resource management for all community outreach/mission efforts. Any team doing community missions or outreach in any Council will be asked to coordinate with this team.

Benevolence Team - Lou Young

Benevolence Team will work with the Community/Outreach Team to provide assistance to the community. The team will cooperate with community agencies, Baptist Home, and other areas.

Habitat for Humanity Team - Kevin Bellamy

This team will work with twelve other churches to build a Habitat home in the fall. The team will develop long term plans for other Habitat opportunities.

Operation Inasmuch Team -TBA

The emphasis is a one day mission opportunity for the church to work in the community. The project puts traditional community service agencies in partnership with our church to serve the community.

DivorceCare Team - Faye Merrideth/Co-Team Leader Needed

DivorceCare is a weekly seminar and support group. There are 13 video seminars on DVD, featuring top experts on divorce and recovery topics from a Christian perspective. The DVDs feature interviews with trusted Christian experts, ensuring that our DivorceCare group is built on a biblical, Christ-centered foundation.

Wake Interfaith Team - Needs a Team Leader

This team serves the working poor twice per year in cooperation with Wake Interfaith. The team provides meals and hosts for the ministry.

Hope Builders Team - Needs a Team Leader

This team does repairs and construction for needy senior adults in Raleigh. The team works in partnership with the City of Raleigh.

WMU - Lois Bullard

The WMU Team is an umbrella for three mission groups. Woman on Missions, Girls in Action, and Mission Friends are part of this team. The WMU team will work on several mission projects and will continue to educate young women on missions.

Denominational Relations Team - Donnie Wiltshire

Denominational Relations Team will provide education and recommendations to the church on all denominational issues. These issues including opportunities for mission giving.

College Ministry Teams - Team Leaders Needed

The College Ministry will build effective teams to serve students. These teams are Communications, Hospitality, Inreach, Outreach and Evangelism, Praise Band, Service, and Spiritual Formation. The ministry will be “actively” seeking people who have a calling for College Ministry. The teams will focus on teaching and equipping students to live their lives completely under the lordship of Jesus Christ. The teams will develop new entry points for students. Additional mission opportunities will be available for students.

Evangelism Team - Donna Nye

This team will provide leadership and guidance to other outreach teams. The team will develop and plan a revival for our church. Team members will meet with different age groups in the fall to develop recommended outreach strategy for Forest Hills.
