Administration & Support

Purpose of the Council:
The purpose of the Administration & Support Ministry is to ensure that through God's direction, FHBC has the personnel, lay leaders, facilities, budget infrastructure, and essential operating guidelines that allow our ministers and ministry teams to carry out various worship, outreach, mission, and evangelism ministries. We manage our church's operational support needs so that people are free to follow God's calling into ministry teams that help us, as a group of believers, bring glory to God and further His Kingdom.

Council Leaders:

Chair - A.G. Bullard

Vice Chair - TBD

Summary of the Council's Team Ministry Plans:

Much of the Administration & Support Council's function is to support Forest Hills Baptist Church and its ministries to ensure God's vision for us can be realized.

In 2007, members of:
  • The Financial Management Committee and its six sub-teams (Offering Count & Management, Insurance Management, Financial Records Review, Financial Practices & Management, Investment Management, and Endowment Management) will recommend budget goals to the Leadership Team; develop an investment and asset protection policy; recommend insurance related actions; review end of the year financial records;
  • The Nominating Committee will find people called by God to fill the committees responsible for the financial and physical infrastructure of our church
  • The Personnel Committee will recommend to the church individuals to fill pastoral staff positions; study and update church policies that pertain to all employed personnel; collect annual performance evaluations and evaluate the Senior Pastor's performance; study and recommend salary and benefitspackages for the staff; and encourage and support all Church Staff Personnel.
  • The Property Management Committee and its four sub-teams  (Building & Grounds, Facilities Use, Missionary House, and Transportation) will ensure  our church property is cared for, establish policies for use of our facilities, maintain the Missionary House, and make certain our church vehicles are reliable and safe.
  • The Rules of Procedure Committee will revise the Rules of Procedure to reflect how FHBC functions as an organization under the new structure.
  • The Staff Support & Affirmation team will develop a plan to continually pray for our staff and recognize staff special occasions. They will find ways to make certain our staff is continually aware that they are appreciated.
  • The Internet Team will facilitate the flow of information to Internet media such as our web site and email lists that allow our church staff, councils, and ministry teams to effectively communicate with our membership and the world.
  • The Communications Technology Team will assist staff in evaluating new technologies that can be useful in the office and in the many different ministry areas. They will also offer advice on the purchase of hardware and software for office and ministry work.
In 2007 we will place special emphasis on encouraging and affirming our ministers and support staff, evaluating financial investment policies, and revising the Rules of Procedure.
