Pastoral Care Partnerships
Pastoral Care Partnerships is a care and spiritual formation ministry that provides confidential short-term counseling, assessment and referral to couples and adult individuals. It hopes to be a ministry through which the best principles of psychology and the social sciences meet with Christian theological reflection and the practice of time honored spiritual disciplines in order to facilitate healing and restoration. In part, it is a ministry designed for people who see their difficulties as an important aspect of their faith journey, for people who are intentional about interpreting a difficult situation as an opportunity to facilitate further union with Christ and for people whose difficulties leave them doubting whether such a union is possible. It hopes to be a place of safe ground for the recovery of emotional and spiritual health.
Referrals to Pastoral Care Partnerships are made by the ministers of Forest Hills Baptist Church. When a minister perceives a need for referral he/she contacts Ray Beale, D. Min. with information concerning the referral. Ray then awaits a telephone call from the person wishing to set up an appointment. Her office is located on the Forest Hills campus.
Situations that arise outside of Ray’s scope of practice are referred to the best community resources available at the time. Pastoral Care Partnerships is neither a crisis nor intervention agency and is not set up as a 24-hour on-call facility.
Pastoral Care Partnerships is a ministry supported by the tithes and offerings of Forest Hills church members and is designed to serve both its members and the community within the perimeters of the ministry covenant.
