Team Ministry
Students, together with church members and other adults, work within six College Ministry Teams to accomplish their mission.

These six Ministry Teams are:

SPIRITUAL FORMATION TEAM

WILL STRIVE TO: Develop a cohesive and coordinated plan for Spiritual Formation that will inform and shape the efforts of Sunday morning Bible study, Tuesday C.S.I., contemporary worship, and fall and winter retreats.

TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, TEAM MEMBERS WILL:

COMMIT TO PRAY – corporately and individually
DEVELOP A STRATEGIC PLAN - for the academic school year
TEACH / FACILITATE – or enlist teachers and facilitators for:
***Sunday School
*** Tuesday C.S.I.-Raleigh
*** Fall and Winter Retreats

LEAD PLANNING EFFORTS FOR:
Contemporary Worship
Retreats

           
 

OUTREACH and EVANGELISM TEAM

WILL STRIVE TO: Develop multiple “points of entry” in order to reach Christian students who are not involved in church, as well as students who are not yet believers.

TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, TEAM MEMBERS WILL PLAN EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES THAT FOSTER FELLOWSHIP & FRIENDSHIP AND ASSIST STUDENTS IN TRANSITION.

TRANSITIONING H/S SENIORS - “homegrowns” and those new to Raleigh
FALL KICK-OFF EVENTS
Fall Feed                           Scavenger Hunt
Ice Cream Social                Movie Night
Spaghetti Dinner                Game Night
 

VISITOR CARDS: completion, introductions
VAN PICK UP: Meredith and NCSU
MEREDITH MOVE-IN: provide labor, water, info.
INCREASE FHBC PRESENCE: on area campuses
FOLLOW UP WITH GUESTS: postcards, cookie visits, etc.


 

INREACH TEAM

WILL STRIVE TO: welcome and involve new and returning members; and build community within the group and by creating an open, warm and comfortable environment at all FHBC College ministry events and functions.

TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, TEAM MEMBERS WILL CREATE, DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT VARIOUS MEANS OF CONNECTING, SUCH AS:

 “Welcome Table” - Sunday mornings
Prayer Requests – opportunities to share
Van pick up – Sunday mornings-area campuses
“Getting to Know You” - events / activities
Name Tags – to greet and to track attendance
Information Packets – available, all events
Ice Breakers - Sunday mornings, retreats, etc.
Guest Connections - contact and follow up
“Student Info Cards” – obtain and keep Directory records for all students
GRADUATION RECOGNITION – “Yay You” Toast

SERVICE TEAM

WILL STRIVE TO: Develop and nurture an attitude of Christian service and stewardship that is manifested in students’ consistent and active involvement in service opportunities.


HOSPITALITY TEAM


WILL STRIVE TO: Create at FHBC a “home-away-from-home” atmosphere for area college students.

TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, TEAM MEMBERS WILL PROVIDE, PLAN, AND SERVE MEALS, SNACKS, DRINKS, ETC. FOR COLLEGE EVENTS & SPECIAL OCCASIONS SUCH AS:

FALL KICK OFF EVENTS: “Fall Feed,” Ice Cream Social, Spaghetti Dinner
Progressive Thanksgiving Dinner
Coffee Bar & snacks: “C.S.I. Raleigh” on Tuesday nights -
“Breakfast @ Nite” – Exam Time/Dec
Super Bowl Party– Jan. or Feb.
Mission Trip Return Dinner - March

COMMUNICATION TEAM

WILL STRIVE TO: Effectively communicate to students in area colleges, the opportunities at and through FHBC for Christian fellowship, growth and maturity.

TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, TEAM MEMBERS WILL USE:

CHURCH WEB SITE: updates, college homepage, content, student directory
PRINT MATERIAL: brochures, picture post cards, posters, handouts, weekly updates
BULLETIN BOARDS: office hallway & annex
ADVERTISING: NCSU Technician, TV & Radio
THE VISION & SANCTUARY PROJECTION SYSTEM: for announcements
INFORMATION PACKETS: for guests and new members
PERMANENT TABLE DISPLAY: for College Ministry/Mission Fairs


TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, TEAM MEMBERS WILL:

DETERMINE & DEFINE – specific service opportunities
CO-ORDINATE, PLAN AND PROMOTE – effort and service involvement
SEEK TO SERVE – in various settings
     FHBC: wash windows, paint, grounds
     RALEIGH: “With Love From Jesus”
     OUTSIDE OF NC: Spring Break M-Trip
