Ten Ways to Say "Thank You"
While most people in America are celebrating Thanksgiving, why not use this
opportunity to give thanks, praises to your spouse, and make your marriage
joyful during this holiday season?
Are you a complainer? Do you nag your spouse hoping he/she will change? Are
your ways of changing your spouse working? If not, here are 10 ways you can
put into practice during this Thanksgiving season:
-
Sit down. Write a list of grace, favor, benefits you receive from your
spouse. Even if you only find one, go and buy a nice card (or make one)
and write a nice sentence thanking him/her for that special favor.
-
Tell the story of Thanksgiving, why in America we celebrate
Thanksgiving. (You can find the history of Thanksgiving on the web.)
Treat this like a bedtime story. Then before you shut off the light,
thank him/her for being your spouse.
-
Surprise him/her one day and say: "For the next 24 hours, I will
not argue with you."
-
Buy a small gift and say: "I found this, and I think it is for
you."
-
Be romantic. Serve Breakfast in bed and enjoy each other before
the day begins.
-
Even though you have been married for a long time, go out on
a date together. Try dance, enjoy a meal and movie, etc. If you
have children, have sitters in place.
-
Express your gratitude to your spouse publicly. Make sure
that others around you know and hear your praises to your
spouse.
-
Give your spouse the present of the day. For 24 hours,
you reverse your role in the house. For example, if the wife
does all the cooking, reverse this role.
-
Simply say "thank you." Whenever you feel your spouse
needs the praise or encouragement.
-
Let your spouse see how "giving" you are to others.
Do you volunteer to help whenever available? Do you
"give donations" to needy organizations. Do you have the
habit of praising people around you? Alternatively, are
you judgmental and critical of people around you? Stop
the negativism and be positive. Make yourself a channel
of blessings to others!
People no matter of what race or gender respond positively to thanksgiving
and praises. Why not start and be part of all the thankful hearts this season.
Happy and joyous thanksgiving everybody!
